Day 2 (Fry Day)

For breakfast we had apple fritters. They were so good. You must try these at home.

On day two we cooked all fried foods. We decided if we were going to heat oil in a pot over the fire we should just use it all day. It was a very good idea. Our first recipe is Hasty Fritters also known as Apple Fritters.  Here is Hannah Glasse’s copy from the 1774 edition of her cookbook, The Art of Cookery.

Kya and Kalel take a break with full bellies. Keona gets to work pulling yard waste from the fence.
For lunch we went very basic. I cut up some potatoes for french fries and also sliced a few very thin for some potato chips.

I continued to test the pizza oven.
Kya's friend Sydney stopped by to join us on our jouerney. Sydney and the kids were talking about Harry potter and they decided to have a wand creating contest.

Kya had most of her sheet music for the guitar on her iphone so the night before lights out she wrote it all out on paper.
At some point the waste ashes from the pizza oven caught my box of firewood on fire. It was a comical moment .
If you are frying food why not make some crab rangoon. Dinner was delicious. You should try these. We used the recipe from allrecipies.com.

Sydney and Keona played viola together.
